Join us Thursday November 10th - Two Days after Election Day. Please note we moved the meeting to allow all attendees the chance to go Vote on Tuesday. Because of the election we are devoting the month of November to all things legislative.So next time there is an issue in your local city or state that needs to be addressed rather than sitting around and complaining, you can take action and DO SOMETHING!.
We will have our usual Networking from 6pm to 7pm and then we will be having several guests over the evening to discuss some of the on going issues and what has been done.
1. Seller Finance Legislation: National REIA and the Seller Finance Coalition have been working hard to change law to allow exempt up to 24 Seller Financed Transactions to Consumers over the current 2 allows. Jeff Watson (last months speaker) and Charles Tassell the lobbiest for National REIA will be joining us to update us on what has been done and what still needs to be done to get this law changed.
2. Interior Inspections: In Kansas The Associated Landlords of Kansas were able to pass State Legislation to help landlords with the dilema of violating the tenants 4th Amendment Rights with Interior Inspections. We will share what Ed Jaskinia was able to accomplish and some of the steps that were taken to get this law passed and what is still left to do to perfect it.
3. Changing Law: In Missouri in 2017 there is an opportunity to change or pass law similar to the legislation passesd in Kansas. We have Missouri Rep Gary Cross who can assist us in this matter, but he can't do it alone, he will need our help at the grass roots level as well as funding to get this law introduced and passed.
